  71.      LICENSE/REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  73.           MicroCook is not, nor has ever been, public domain or free
  74.      software. MicroCook is distributed as Shareware. Shareware is the
  75.      best type of software, it's software you can try before you pay
  76.      for it! Paying for Shareware is called "registering." If you
  77.      bought a copy of this software through a disk vendor, paid to
  78.      download the software from a BBS, or got a copy from a friend;
  79.      you did NOT register it.

  81.           The registered version of MicroCook may not be duplicated
  82.      other than for backup purposes. A registered copy of MicroCook
  83.      must be treated like a book, in that the same registered copy of
  84.      MicroCook may not be used in more than one computer at the same
  85.      time, just as a book cannot be handled and read by more than one
  86.      person at the same time.

  88.           When you register MicroCook, you are paying me for the time
  89.      and effort that went into, and continues to go into developing
  90.      MicroCook. It is also the ONLY legal way for you to continue
  91.      using the program after the 30 days trial period.

  93.           To register, type in REGISTER from the directory where all
  94.      the MicroCook files are. This will execute a batch file which
  95.      will print 2 sheets with the necessary information for
  96.      registration of the MicroCook and the accompanying recipes. We
  97.      hope you will register for both, but please register at least the
  98.      part of this program package you will be using. See RECIPES.DOC
  99.      for information about future addition of recipes and the upgrade
  100.      program. See SWREG.DOC if you have CompuServe account and want to
  101.      register MicroCook.

  103.           Registered users of the MicroCook database program will
  104.      receive at least one (1) free upgrade during the first year after
  105.      registration, and unlimited technical support. But PLEASE only
  106.      call between 6 and 9 PM CDT weekdays! Users that have questions
  107.      during the evaluation period can contact me by mail, or on GEnie
  108.      (TM) (GE Information Services) or CompuServe (TM). And of course,
  109.      registered users can also contact me there.

  111.           You are granted a limited license to use the Shareware
  112.      version of MicroCook for a limited evaluation period of up to 30
  113.      days, in order to determine if it suits your needs. Any other
  114.      use of MicroCook or use past this period requires registration.

  118.           You are granted a limited license to copy the Shareware
  119.      version of MicroCook only for the purpose of allowing others to
  120.      try it, subject to the above restrictions as well as these:
  121.      MicroCook must be distributed in absolutely unmodified form,
  122.      including ALL program, documentation, and other files.

  124.           MicroCook may not be included with any other product for any
  125.      reason whatsoever without a license from NORSKi Software.
  126.           No charge or payment may be levied or accepted for MicroCook 
  127.      without written permission from NORSKi Software.

  129.           Bulletin Board system operators may post the unregistered,
  130.      Shareware Edition of MicroCook on their BBS for downloading by
  131.      their users without written permission only if the above
  132.      conditions are met, and only if no special fee is necessary to
  133.      access the MicroCook files.

  135.           Distributors of User Supported and Public Domain software
  136.      can distribute MicroCook without permission from NORSKi Software,
  137.      as long as only standard copying, shipping and handling fees are
  138.      charged to the customer. But please notify NORSKi Software that
  139.      you are distributing MicroCook, so I can supply you with the most
  140.      recent version and upgrades.

  142.           When you register you will receive a small "key file" with
  143.      the serial number and your name. Place this file in the SAME
  144.      directory as MCOOK.EXE. This file is for YOU only, and must NOT
  145.      be distributed with any copies you give to your friends or upload
  146.      to BBS's (which you are encouraged to do). The Key disables all
  147.      the "Please Register!" messages and the time delayed opening and
  148.      ending screens so the program will start running without delay.
  149.      I added these "features" as reminders to unregistered users, not
  150.      to harass them. The unregistered version and the registered
  151.      version are identical in functions, except for these messages.
  152.      Please keep a copy of the Key file in a safe place, since you
  153.      have to pay a $5.00 S&H fee to get a new one.  
  154.           Also, registered users will receive an ASCII Editor for
  155.      editing of ASCII recipe files in other formats than MicroCook's.
  156.      This editor is NOT to be given away, uploaded to bulletin boards
  157.      (BBS), or distributed in any way. Also included with the registered copy
  158.      of MicroCook are over 2000 recipes, ready to be loaded into MicroCook.
  159.           If you have a lot of recipes in other formats than Meal-Master that
  160.      you would like to convert to MicroCook, please send me e-mail, call or
  161.      write. Maybe I can help. I plan to add more conversions in the next
  162.      version of MicroCook so I also would like to learn more about the
  163.      different PC Cookbook formats that's in use.
  164.           To print out the documentation included with MicroCook, type
  165.      PRINTDOC from the directory where all the MicroCook files are
  166.      located. This will execute a batch file that will print out the
  167.      documents and the manual that's included with MicroCook. You can also
  168.      print both the manual and registration form from the Print Menu in
  169.      MicroCook. If you are printing to a continuous feed printer      
  170.      (DOT-Matrix), you should locate the first page perforation about 1 inch
  171.      above where the print head is located. This will format the text better
  172.      on the page.
